The village of Ninilchik has come together to establish their first community fund with the Homer Foundation. Led by founding donors Lara McGinnis and Jim Stearns, the Ninilchik Community Fund has already met the $10,000 minimum threshold to become an active fund at the Foundation (active funds are able to begin grantmaking; acorn funds are seed funds that have not yet reached the $10,000 threshold required to begin actively grantmaking). This fund is an exciting strategic addition to the Foundation, as we seek to underscore the breadth of our service area – from Ninilchik to Nanwalek, and everywhere in between. We look forward to supporting the Ninilchik area through this fund and welcome others to partner with us to strengthen this community.
