Quick Response Grants

Resources to pursue community growth and development. This non-competitive year-round grant program accepts requests of up to $5,000. Grants are reviewed monthly by a committee made up of community members, and staff are happy to answer questions or review your application before you apply. A majority of Quick Response Grants are funded by The Opportunity Fund as well as other donor funds.

Our grantmaking is guided by dedicated committees made up of both community volunteers and members of the Homer Foundation Board of Trustees, whose active leadership, thoughtful stewardship, and deep local knowledge help ensure funds are invested where they can make the greatest impact.

Impact Grants

Homer Foundation Impact Grants support funding requests over $5,000 and are designed to create meaningful community impact. Each impact grant is considered by the full Board of Trustees.

‍1. Contact Homer Foundation staff at 907.235.0541 or info@homerfoundation.org to share what you plan to submit in your Letter of Inquiry.
2. Review the guidelines and prepare your Letter of Inquiry.
3. Submit your Letter of Inquiry for review.
4. If invited, complete a full application.

City of Homer Grants

The City of Homer grants program provides unrestricted funding to many Homer nonprofits that provide essential and enriching programs to the community. The Homer Foundation administers the program and manages an endowment fund for the city. Awards typically range between $1,000 and $5,000.

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) Grants

YAC has been an important component of our community outreach since it began in 2002. YAC is a hands-on model for youth engagement that incorporates philanthropy, volunteerism, and leadership. YAC provides grant support to organizations that serve youth in healthy, affordable and easily accessible activities in the Homer community.

The application process is subject to change based upon current-year student input.

Generally eligible nonprofits will receive an invitation to apply early in the calendar year.

Last year's application was a 3-minute video addressing student questions and concerns.
