Here at The Homer Foundation, we have several traditions we hold near and dear, but publishing our annual report is one of our favorites.
This report is a reflection of the year behind us: the grants and scholarships made, the organizations and students supported, and the many ways philanthropy has strengthened our community. Most of all, it is a tribute to the donors and fundholders who made that impact possible.
We invite you to take a look back with us.
You can pick up a hard copy at our Annual Gathering, our office, or flip through it digitally here.

Join us Thursday, October 22, at 5 p.m. We’ll start with a short look back at some of the highlights and impact of the past year, along with our People’s Choice Awards, where guests will help choose two $1,000 grants for local organizations. Then we’ll spend the evening catching up with friends and colleagues, enjoying a bite to eat, and listening to the Spit City Slickers play old-time string band music.

The Homer Foundation is grateful for the many generous donors who supported our work over the past year. Every gift, whether large or small, helps strengthen our community and makes it possible to support local nonprofits, students, families, and causes across the southern Kenai Peninsula.

For some households in our community, a broken stove, an overdue utility bill, or an expired license can quickly spiral into a major problem. 100 Women Who Care is helping replenish this important community resource and provide timely assistance to local families facing unexpected expenses.

This month, the Homer Foundation welcomed three new funds supporting important work across our community. The Skip Utter Book Fund, The Homer Independent Press Agency Stewardship Fund, and the Margaret & Ivan KBay Recovery Connection Fund.

Life gets busy, but giving doesn’t have to be one more thing to remember. See how one donor’s $20 monthly gift has made a lasting impact over 20 years.
